WOW!! This will be the third time I am attempting to post...the other times I crafted these exquisite word pictures to share this phenomenal experience...only to have ERROR come up on the page and whisk them away into cyberspace! This is quite difficult to get onto the page, the whole deal is in Hebrew in front of me!
By the grace of God, we have had incredible smooth flights, wonderful service, no security issues, and the food has been so delicious! Ivy Ross, you were soooo right! We are fed like royalty!
We are now staying in the caravans that I may have told you about...they are trailers of sorts, temporary housing units that people stay in when they first come to Israel, when they are in the process of obtaining land rights and building rights. Ours has AC, which is a real blessing.
There is also a fine shower and it is clean and the girls have one unit and Jack and I are next door, in our own little honeymoon suite! Twin beds, of course. Naturally, we had a knock at 4 am when Hannah was scared and climbed into our twins.
We can see the Arab communities all around us. We are in what is known to you all as the West Bank. Foreigners do nt come here and people are pretty shocked to see our American, Canadian faces. There are 24 of us, a contingent from Canada, some from US and then Americans that are presently living in Australia. The families are really beautiful and the kids are coming together beautifully, laughing, helping each other, getting their facebook information, etc.
This place just makes me cry. I cannot believe we are here. TO STAND where ABRAHAM< ISAAC and JACOB walked, it is amazing. This is the place where God said He wanted to dwell with man, of all places in the world..HERE. We went to SCHECHEM, too, where Dinah's rape (she was just a little girl, we learned) was avenged by Simeon and Levi. We saw where Joshua called out the blessings and curses for the poeple in Deut. 9..I mean it is overwhelming and it is only Day 2.
You really must come and see this amazing place for yourselves, it is too big for words!!!!!!!!
